Villa L, The Line
"Villa L, The Line" - The buildings itself, its space and the light/shadow compositional collage it generates via the openess towards the sun an sea, puts a strong stamp on the nature of the approach you can take towards it. That approach is immediately channeled to emphasize its characteristics and staying true to its natural space presentation, the materials and light play. The Line Project - a natural yet familiar process of creation was presented by spontaneous sketches, back and forth scribles until a satisfactory composition of form and material was reached. Seeing the building for the first time from the outside - which has a facade of bricks up to the height of the windows and no more but continuing with a paint color to the inclined roof gave a spark to the first idea for the interior. The inclined roof was a technical problem and somewhat visual issue for the interior elements - so mirroring the facade we presented a line up to the height of the windows so all our work will be to the height and anything above that will be left as natural concrete material as it is.
