OFfice HQ and storage building
Form Follows Movement. In essence architecture with its creation grasps a space for itself and it defines how it is represents and lived throughout. Within that space, down to all miniature details, everything is defined by architectural design. The main and only request to guide the design process of the office building space was to have a 400sqm floor size and that all floors easily 'connect' to each other in a functional and physical plane. Rooting together these two ideas, the size of the space and the space grasp core architectural essence mentioned above, we proposed a perfect 20x20m cube which is structured by a perfect 5x5x5m structural wood & steel grid in the outside and inside. It's very rigid form is a complete contrast to its inside dynamic potential of movement in a horizontal and also equally vertical plane. The office is an open space three floor body which on both sides interconnects with everychanging stairs from one axis point to another. The outter structural grid with beams and columns is made out of wood which is connected to the main core structural member made of steel. The massive glass&wood fasad is finally covered by a light curtain-like white steel grid panels that lightens the sun-rays, creates a playground for light and shadow and blends the structural axis on each other.
